I believe that as time passes by, the importance of people’s love and respect for animals is increasing. Nowadays, it is frecuent to see people very involved with their pets, taking great care of them and providing them with all the things a pet needs. Pets tend to become another member of the family. Some children even sleep with them.
Unfortunately, there are always people who look and treat animals as inferior species, who do not mind hurting them and using them for mean purposes. Because of this, it is important to increase and specify the laws that protect animals.
A very important aspect of this issue is education. We must look at pets as individuals who we must take care of, as part of our responsibility. Many people before buying a pet only think of the benefits they will bring, but they do not think of the responsability it implies. This is why some people abandon their pets only a short time after they have bought them.
In my opinion, in our country, laws that protect animals are not clear enough and the politicians in our congress do not give projects that defend animal rights the importance. they deserve. There should be laws that harshly punish animal abuse, that constantly control and supervise commercial activity related to animals and make owners responsible for the damages that their pets can cause.
Many improvements could be made by making use of the technological advances that our society has experienced over the last years. There should be laws that impose identity control systems for animals (obviously these animals should be related to their owners) that would allow the existance of a register of pets by numbers and a way of locating them in case they get lost.

IMPROVING YOUR FACULTY FACILITIES
I think sport is a fundamental element which should be present in every person’s life, no matter what age. Nowadays, people’s lives are much more accelerated. People live with lots of stress, spend most of their time at work and have little time left for their families. Also it is important to mention that statistics reveal that the demand for junk food is increasing everyday.
Our university has a large space destined for sports but the infraestructure is very poor and does not allow the possibility for students to practice sports in the best way.
In my opnion, the university has not put sports as one of its priorities; it has not invested enough money in equipment or teachers. I think that the University has not given sports the importance it deserves. It is essential for people`s physical, psychological and social health.
The small improvements that have taken place are due to student iniciatives. They see sports as an opportunity to get together in a healthy environment, as a form of entertainment and distraction; a way of relaxing and releasing the constant stress they are exposed to. An example of this is the taekwondo group, which was created by a group of motivated students a couple of years ago and has managed to achieve high results.
I believe that, for the benefit of the students, the university should give sports greater attention and increase considerably the amount of funds destined to this area. It should give sports the importance it deserves, and by this, promote a healthy lifestyle for its students.

avourite animal
ResponderEliminarIt is very difficult to choose a favourite animal because in our career we are in contact with many different animals. Due to this, my choice is going to be based on the fact that I have only had one animal as a pet: a ferret. The ferret has been my favourite animal for a long time. My first encounter with one of these animals was five years ago, in a pet shop. I was allowed to hold and stroke him. At that time, it was not very common to have a ferret as a pet. Most people thought they were too exotic. Only excentric people chose to have them as pets. Nowadays, it has become much more common to have one as a pet.
Ferrets are very good pets; they are very independant and easy-going. Another good thing about them is that they sleep 15-20 hours. Therefore, it is easy to take care of them. They demand much less time than other animals.
Ferretts have a long and skinny body, which helps them to get into places with very little space. People who have ferrets as pets must be constantly watching them and making sure they buy a safe cage because it is very easy for them to escape.
They are carnivorous animals, that can also be fed with special food made for them. It is very diffucult to find this special food because not many pet shops sell it. This is why most people who own ferrets feed them with pellet food for cats.
Ferrets are very sociable creatures and enjoy the company of people. They need daily contact with their owners. Although they have an excellent sense of smell and an exceptional sense of hearing, they have very limited vision. Due to this, when an owner first receives the ferret, he/she must try to avoid sudden movements and must talk to them softly.

WHERE TO GO IN SANTIAGO
Santiago, the capital of chile, is a great place fo tourists to visit. It is a city surronded by mountains and full of things to do. One of the places a tourist must definitely visit if he/she is in santiago is La Moneda. This is the resident of the president and his/her co-workers. It is a very beautiful building.
The second place a tourist must visit is Parque Forestal. Parque Forestal is a lovely park located in the middle of town. It is sorrounded by trees and french style apartaments and cafes. It is a good place to go with children because it has lots of things, swings and games for them to play on.
The third place in CAPS santiago a tourist must visit is Pueblito de los Dominicos, located in Las Condes. It is a great place for buying souveniers. In this place they will find SP tipycal CAPS chilean food and craft shops.
The 4 th place to visit is Cerro San Cristobal, which has an entertaining zoo. Tourists have the possibility of getting on a cable car which goes round the hill ad offers a very nice view of santiago.
The last place to visit is Bellavista. Bellavista is a bohemian neighborhood which tourist normally visit by night. It has lots of pubs, restaurants and discotheques. Sometimes people visit it during the day the Neruda’s house. Pablo Neruda, recipient of the 1971 Nobel Prize for Literature, was born in Parral, Chile. His original name was Neftali Ricardo Reyes Basoalto

Chile WW it`s a very good place to live, because it has a long territory with all kind of weathers and you can choose where to live or visit.
In SP cheli you can go to the beach to the mountains, you have lakes and rivers too all of them very close to the city.
The most beautiful for me it’s the south of Chile, the places for tourism are awesome. I love national parks in the south because these areas give pure air to the environment. too long intro!
In September Chile celebrate our national festivities. We enjoy the typical food like empanadas, and great barbeque with tasty meat.
The SP tipical dance is the “cueca” where men and women wear special costumes, this dance it’s very nice, where the main objetive of the dance is that the “huaso” has to flirt with the woman and get her love.
But in September isn’t just celebrating there’s a day to remember when the army took the state by force, and that day is on 11th of September, this date for me is a black episode in the Chilean history and we need to leave this in the past after we make justice, because it produce anger and pain.

Transantiago
When transantiago started on February of 2007 people SVA was very unhappy because there weren’t enough buses, the trips were different and you had to make at least two combinations; another thing that got people upset was that the buses were always crowded.
In consequence of all this the government had to improve the system and design new trips and put more buses in the streets.
Personally I think that for the poor people and for the students transantiago meant a real improvement in their lives, for the poor people because paying just one bus ticket they can take a lot of buses and even make a round trip; and for the students because all of us can have a student pass and have a better treat from the drivers.
Other good things about transantiago is that you can get into the subway without paying more, transantiago is much more WF organize than the older system and a little bit cleaner.
Some improvements that transantiago should have are putting more buses on the streets, making new trips so people make less combinations, having more control of the contamination that the buses liberate, making more exclusive ways, and WF promote the use of bicycles so there’s less traffic.
